Doğubayazıt is a border town at the foot of Mount Ararat (5,137 m), Türkiye's highest mountain. İshak Paşa Palace, on the hillside above the town, was completed in the 18th century; blending Ottoman, Seljuk and Persian architecture, with its domed mosque and harem, it is one of the most impressive buildings in the East.
Climbing Mount Ararat requires a separate permit and a guide; this route shows the mountain from viewpoints.
